The Nelson Police Foundation recently hosted its fundraising event “CUFFS for a CAUSE” Saturday at the Selkirk College Tenth Street Campus.
The event, which attracted more than 140 people, was another success as the evening raised approximately $5000 toward Foundation projects.
The Foundation has a charitable purpose and aims to provide funding for youth programs, training, equipment and education that is police related, but does not fall under the normal operating budget.
There are also two Foundation projects on the go — speed reader boards and the Police Heritage Car project at L.V. Rogers High School.
During the evening, Nelson RBC Royal Bank made a donation to the Foundation of $1,000.
